You need to know all the regulations involved in hiring and firing employees, financial transactions, route administration, labor relations, customer service, building maintenance and much more. You do the scheduling of employees, submit and manage a budget, maintain and promote production and efficiencies, promote safety and service plus deal with a free service to an inclusive population.

Salary - United States Postal Service, Postmaster is $29/Hourly.
$60,000/year, health insurance (you pay 25%), 2 weeks paid vacation, sick leave, moderate life insurance, an excellent pension after 30 years of service.

Working Conditions
Being the only management employee at the post office, you are stuck in the middle of the demands of the citizens, upper management and union employees. Without the authority to act, you need to maintain a precarious balance. You are constantly micro-managed and audited. If you are knowledgeable about your craft and artistic in your profession, you can do well.

Physical Requirements
You must be able to lift 70 pounds, have a mind for figures and pattern recognition, good hand-eye coordination and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
