Physical Education Teaching Jobs
Physical education teaching jobs are unique in comparison to a math teacher, or a science teacher. The position, while many times characterized as "easy" or "not a real teaching job" is crucial to the development of young minds and bodies. In an age where street ball and playing in the park are losing ground to video games and technology, the need for a physical education is crucial.
The needs has not only placed an emphasis on physical education teaching jobs, but on those teachers to be creative.
Fact: Childhood obesity is increasing.Fact: More children than ever are on cholesterol medicines.
With such facts, and children that are inactive, a Physical Education Teacher needs to consider alternatives to traditional Physical Education activities. Such alternatives include games that do not allow for individuals to be excluded or stand aimlessly in right field. Rather in the activity itself each and every child must be active.
Other characteristic of a Physical Education Curriculum is to keep the children switching activities. Research has shown that children today become bored and uninterested faster. Is this a product of the video game age? We do not know, however children lose interest if their mind is not constantly occupied.
Further research has also shown that children and young adults involved in physical activity can think clearer than as if they had not exercised. This fact alone should be a reason to encourage Physical education.
Physical activity at an early age enforced by continual physical education classes is a must if the United States will gain any ground on childhood obesity. The importance of a physical education teacher is more important than ever. Physical Education teaching jobs are crucial to the future physical and mental health of students.
