Applebee's Salaries, Wages, and Tips

Applebees Salary, Wages and Tips

Find out what an Applebee's Waitress, Host, Cook and Managers Earn

Like most other restaurants, the salary of a worker at Applebee's will be dependent upon a wide variety of factors. Employment in a small town Applebees is going to be entirely different than employment in a big town Applebee's. Likewise, salaries in a Midwest city will differ from a coastal region. Another factor to consider when it comes to salaries at Applebee's is exactly what type of position you will occupy in the company.

Entry level positions, such as hosts, waiters, and food servers, have the lowest salaries of any Applebee's employees. The average pay for a waiter at Applebee's is approximately $2-3 per hour (minimum wage in many states), meaning that in order to make a decent living as a waiter or waitress at Applebee's, you will have to rely largely on tips. For a busy restaurant, this shouldn't be difficult. Most waiters and waitresses report earning between five and six hundred dollars per week with tips. This averages out to anywhere between twenty-one thousand to twenty-six thousand dollars per year as a waiter.

A door attendant for the average door attendant or host at Applebees are traditionally much lower on average than a waiter or waitress receives. A door attendant will usually pull in approximately fourteen thousand dollars per year. In many restaurants, however, the door attendant is not a full time host. Instead, he or she also operates as a server and waitress in a alternating capacity.

Figures for the average wage for an Applebee's cook are much higher per hour.  Typically the salary for a line cook will be approximately ten to twelve dollars per hour. While line cooks will make more per hour, they do not receive tips. Thus, the average yearly salary for a cook will be on par with the yearly salary of a waiter or waitress, once tips are added to the equation.

The average salary for a bartender can greatly vary. Some bartenders make as little as twenty-thousand dollars per year, while others make closer to thirty thousand.

The salary for an assistant manager, restaurant manager, or general manager is much higher than most workers at Applebees. Assistant manangers and restaurant managers make between forty to fifty thousand dollars per year, while an Applebee's General Manager's Salary can be as high sixty thousand dollars per year ($60,000).

It's always important to remember that there are a number of factors that go into deciding a final salary. Just like any job, before you accept any position of employment at Applebee's, it is important to discuss the terms of your salary so that you know exactly what you are getting into.
