A Typical Day of a Grade School Principal
I wake up every morning, like every one of you. My alarm clock rings and I slam my foam pillow against my head. However once I see the bright sun shouting, "Good Morning!" I jump up, revitalized.
During my tenure as a grade school principal, my day is anything but ordinary. I make my way to school donning a well-defined list of objectives needed to accomplish over the course of the next week so that I can use any discretionary moment to move a step closer to accomplishing a specific goal. In a way I need to act like a suave James Bond, recognizing that any certain event that transpires may throw the whole day off course.
My middle name needs to be FLEXIBILITY. Unlike most common businessmen, I take my work home with me each and every single night. I take home each and every future of each and every shining pupil and mold them to become the most responsible, diligent, and caring individuals that they can possibly be. I find no other career that could possibly be as rewarding as that of an elementary school principal. Each day, I am privileged with the opportunity to see boys and girls metamorphose into young men and women with hearts full of gold and enlightened minds. And every night, I drift to sleep with a smile plastered on my face, knowing that I will be able to experience that joy all over again, tomorrow.
I do not take my job home with me, and that is perhaps the thing I love best about my work. Unlike office jobs, my cellular phone does not ring at dinner time because of a sudden problem that arose. When I put my tools down, problems cease happening. So when I leave work at 5 PM, I go home with a clear-head ready to spend time with my family.
