Making sure cargo is secure, adjusting mirrors on both sides of the truck so the driver can see from the driver’s seat and reporting equipment that is inoperable, missing or loaded improperly to the dispatcher.

Drivers must be alert once on the road, to avoid accidents.  Because of the large truck sitting higher than regular traffic, drivers can see further down the road and this helps drivers keep sight of varying road conditions, while keeping a steady speed.

Depending on the type of merchandise and its final destination, delivery time varies.  Daily service on a specific route depends on local drivers.  Intercity and interstate deliveries take longer and vary from state to state are handled by long distance drivers.
