Ask CareerLeak - Frequently Asked Questions

What is CareerLeak.com?

CareerLeak.com is a user generated platform that provides unfiltered career information about jobs, companies and careers. The main focus of CareerLeak.com, Job Profiles, gives users a realistic view of what it might be like to work for a specific company. These profiles includes important factors such as salaries, job descriptions, management qualities and more. The Job Profiles are based off of Job Surveys that aim to get the kind of information job seekers are searching for. Other aspects include government provided Career Information on specific occupations and careers, Career Articles, and more to come.

What's with the name?

CareerLeak was created on the idea that too many jobs have little to no free information available to job hunters. It seems that the desired information is "bottled up" or accessible only after hire. This information tends to leave the job searcher vulnerable to companies that are not entirely forthcoming on the position in question. The term "leak" is just that, CareerLeak provides a leak of previously hard to find job and career information. Plus have you tried to register a domain name lately? It can be hard to find a unique name, thus CareerLeak it is.

How much does CareerLeak cost?

CareerLeak.com is free. CareerLeak believes that in order for a community to survive access must be nonrestrictive. With a mission to encourage and facilitate user participation and growth, CareerLeak does not plan to ask users to pay any fees for information. However CareerLeak reserves the right to make adjustments as needed.

How do I know the information provided on CareerLeak is accurate?

CareerLeak makes every effort to ensure that the job profiles provided are accurate, transparent and unbiased. However, CareerLeak cannot guarantee any information is accurate because of the nature of service. A lot of specifics come into play that can influence the accuracy of the information provided; timing, location, opinion, skills, etc. We asked users to review each profile with a conscious skepticism and review as many profiles as possible to possibly gain alternative perspectives to the job profile.

How do I know my survey will remain anonymous?

CareerLeak does not collect user information in most cases, nor does it store IP addresses. In some cases and at the users discretion CareerLeak.com will provide contests for filling out a job survey. In order to be eligible for the contest the user must provide their name and email address (which will never be displayed or shared) in order for contest consideration.

On Anonymity: Just because it is anonymous does not mean we post every survey that is submitted. CareerLeak reviews each survey and removes or deletes any content that constitutes hate speech, derogatory terms, or posts that are considered "revenge posts." We feel job surveys whose sole intent is to degrade a particular company or employer do not provide value to the community as the intentions behind the survey are skewed.

I don't like what I see, how do I delete a Job Profile?

CareerLeak makes every effort to ensure the profiles provided are accurate and transparent, so it does not make a policy for deleting specific posts. CareerLeak does have a review process if a particular Job Profile, User Comment, or other information affiliated with CareerLeak is objectionable. If you would like information on the site reviewed please follow these steps:
