| Job Description | The Information Technology field itself is very broad. In your application, you specify what kind of jobs that you would like to do and also the skills and experiences that you have. Disney will then match you with a specific job within the IT department based on your resume and the interview. If you happen to not like your assignment, you could request a transfer which is almost 100% granted because Disney would like you to have a good experience as an intern. |
| Salary | The pay rate that Disney offer is very competitive with other companies. Your hourly rate is $18.50/hour for any undergrad students or $19/hour for grad students. You are also eligible for over time within your area. If overtime within your area is not available, you may also work in the park for $12.79/hour or $18.48/hour if you're working in any quick service food and beverage locations. |
| Working Conditions | You have your own office room or cubicle depending on your location. Most of the time you are inside unless you happen to work for an area that support outdoor machinery and computing systems. If so, you will be required to walk around the locations to check on the system status. I heard from other intern that this is A LOT of walking! |
| Physical Requirements | Nothing special is required. As I mentioned, most of the time you are inside the building, sitting down on your desk while staring at your PC. |
| Interview Information | You apply for the job at www.disneycareers.com > Keyword: INTERN You're allowed to apply for 3 different internship position within a semester period. After you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email. Usually a day or two later, you will receive an email back which require you to do a basic assessment. This is just simple questionnaires to make sure that you are eligible to work in the US legally and that you meet all the requirement for the position. About two or three weeks later, you will receive a phone call from HR to conduct a screening interview. If you pass this interview, you will move to the second round of interview which is more specific about the IT position that you're applying for. If you pass this round, you will conduct a third interview with either a manager in the area or one of the intern coordinator. Usually this interview is more technical and detailed. After that, you just play the waiting game. It takes them about 2 to 3 weeks to decide whether you're suitable for the position or not. If you make the cut, you will receive a phone call from HR to congratulate you and give you more information regarding the position. Along with this, you will also receive an email for your own records. |
