Working in a Walgreens Pharmacy, or any pharmacy for that matter is high stress, but very rewarding. | |
| Location | Oregon |
| Job Description | Typical pharmacist duties - reviewing prescriptions, verifying medications before release, educating patients about their medications, making recommendations for OTC products, calling doctors to suggest changes when needed. |
| Salary | $105,000 a year; an impressive sign on bonus; medical, dental; profit sharing |
| Working Conditions | It can be very stressful at times when it gets busy and we are short staffed. We fill anywhere from 130-350 prescriptions a day. And some of the patients can be rude, but it's very rewarding when you do make a positive difference in someone's health - through education them about their medication, intervening on serious drug interactions. |
| Physical Requirements | Must be able to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours a day with little bathroom breaks. |
| Interview Information | Most companies take you out to lunch or dinner. If you have a pharmacy degree, you can be hired anywhere. It's more like you are interviewing them to see if you want to work for them. I never had an interview at Walgreens. I just called them up & said I wanted to work for them. |
