A merchandiser for Pepsi "can be" hard degrading work.

Location

 Oregon

Merchandiser Job Description

I was responsible for filling large format stores (Safeways, Walmarts, Fred Meyers) with Pepsi product. This required me to work loads, rotate product, build displays and source. Working for Pepsi was physical and at many time degrading, while at other times it was not that bad. It is a lot worse during the summer than the winter as product sales dwindle.

Pepsi Salary

$11.25/hr, plus overtime, 401k, health, and more benefits

Working ConditionsThe Pepsi work environment differed from store to store as each store has a different policy regarding its merchandisers. Some stores such as Wal-Mart are quite strict and overbearing, while others are more relaxed. For the most part the environment is safe and nothing remarkable.
Physical RequirementsThe merchandiser job can be extremely physically demanding and at other times more laid back. It depends on the store, the day, and the time of year. However, be prepared to by physically exhausted at the end of the day.
Pepsi Interview InformationInterview was straightforward and was experienced based. There was not much more to it than that. Basically they want to know if you can handle the physical work. You must be able to pass a background and drug test

Other Pepsi Job Information:

Work-life balance was fairly consistent. Schedule required a normal 40hr week with up to 5 hours of overtime. This week is 5 days a week and sometimes required me to work weekends. The balance was not too bad, as I did have time to get away and do things. However, time off was not that easy to come by.
