Resume Tips
Resume: It’s all about you
Yes, your resume sells you and your skills to an organization. Thus one needs to be careful while drafting his or her resume. So take up your pens and put on your thinking caps to write a resume that projects you in a good light. First you should frame your objective very carefully. The objective should be clear and should fit the job which you are applying for.
After you have framed your objective, specify your skills in such a way that the interviewer is convinced of your potential. Put yourself in the shoes of the employer and ponder on what they would expect from the candidate. Write all your skills and qualifications in a clear and concise manner.
Don’t use long sentences to describe any aspect. The interviewer may not have enough patience to read the complete resume. So keep the sentences short and use bulleted points. Bold the keywords in your resume. Bullet points and bold words will help the interviewer know the most important information about you, which he may miss out in long sentences. There is absolutely no need to worry about all the details, since they will ask you to give an explanation in person, during the interview.
Use action verbs in the resume. In some of the companies, all the resumes are scanned by the computer. While scanning, the computer may pick up these words needed by the interviewer. Use the same keywords in your resume that are used by the company in the job description. Usage of these action words will enable you to get the required attention that you need. Your interviewer may feel that you would be the apt person for the job.
You have to limit your resume to 1 page and at the max 2 pages! And the font size should be 10. Now draft your resume according to all the above guidelines and do your best.
